A continuing commitment

Shield's is committed to reaching out to the communities in which it operates.

We have worked with Gilda's Club Metro Detroit in hosting benefits for the organization which is dedicated to supporting people with cancer and their families and friends. We are proud of our active involvement in community groups and schools and are glad to help make a positive impact on Southeast Michigan.

Encouraging our youth

Shield's works with high schools to promote and award academic achievement. Its Food for Thought program rewards graduating seniors of participating high schools who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a Shield's gift certificate.

High school sports programs are also a Shield's priority. In an effort to promote teamwork and success, Shield's hosted a dinner for the members and coaches of the Brother Rice High School varsity football team in recognition of their 2000 Class A Championship.

Appreciating our customers

Shield's also rewards the culinary creativity of its customers. In Shield's annual Pizza Bake-Off Contest, patrons are invited to submit an original pizza recipe. Shield's chooses a group of finalists and prepares their recipes. Shield's employees taste-test the pizzas and select the winner. The winner receives a Shield's gift certificate, and the award-winning pizza is featured on Shield's menu.

If you are interested in a donation or sponsorship from Shield's, please contact the Shield's restaurant closest to you.

When a member of the Shield's of Troy family needed medical care, 150 friends and employees came together to raise $3,500 in donations.

Shield's owners Paul Andoni, Peter Andoni and their Southfield location partner Jeff Valdez present a check to Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit resulting from proceeds from the First Annual Gilda's Day at all Shield's locations.
